Merry Christmas from Cape Verde

We arrived yesterday in Palmeira on the island of Sal, Cape Verde after a three day sail from The Gambia. We had sadly said goodbye to Alex at the airport in The Gambia, but met up with Charlotte and Charlie who sailed with us from The Gambia and with whom we will spend Christmas.

I have sent no Christmas cards this year and bought few presents. In fact have managed to almost completely ignore Christmas until we arrived here. On the portside was this giant Christmas cake, even better at night when it is illuminated with colourful flashing lights.

Wishing you all a very happy Christmas and New Year

with love

Hope you have a wonderful time in the sunshine. We’ll raise a glass or two to you on Christmas Day. I bet it’s quite liberating not thinking about cards, presents etc. Xx

We missed you at the Ambling party and charity busk; you are in denial about Christmas. I hope you’re not going ‘Bah Humbug’ on us. But seriously, we are Verde with envy and wish you both ‘A Grumpy Christmas and a Cantankerous New Year.’ Much Love…
