We’re finally leaving Cape Town at noon today for Antigua in the Caribbean. It should take us 9 weeks including short stops in St Helena & Fernando de Noronha in Brazil on the way.
We have spent just over a month here, but Hugh was back in the UK for a week of this, for his father’s funeral, bringing back Covid with him so we were then quarantined on the boat in the V&A Marina for ten days. It has left us both feeling exhausted with nasty coughs which are still persisting, so we hope some sea air and a gentle passage across the South Atlantic will allow us to recuperate. The weather forecast is looking good for a 15 day trip to St Helena. 🤞🤞🤞
I will try to catch up with a post about our time in Cape Town soon xx

February 22, 2023 - 10:39 amSo if you have not read it I can recommend “Napoleon’s Last Island’ by Thomas Keneally. A fictionalised account of Napoleons stay on St Helena which I would be interested to see whether some of the described buildings still exist. Thats if you can get a download. Have a recovery voyage!

April 28, 2023 - 4:08 pmHi Tom
A great read.. though the French Consul was rather scathing about the veracity of it. It was a bit racy and implausible in parts! xx
